 Roane County Circuit Clerk - Andrea Stockner

 The Clerk  of the Circuit Court is elected in each county to carry out administrative functions and to act as record-keeper for circuit court actions in that county.  The Circuit Clerk is an officer within the judicial system and plays a pivitol role in that system. 

The Circuit Clerk also:

  • Serves as the Clerk to the Family Court

  • Issues mesne (during the progress of a case) process
  • Issues final process to enforce and executive judgements
  • Responsible for all papers filed, serves as registrar, recorder and custodian for all pleadings, documents and funds pertaining to cases filed in Circuit Court
  • Responsible for the management of the petit and grand jury systems in the county
  • And other duties related to Circuit Court

    Roane County Circuit Clerk offices
    are located on the 2nd floor of the Roane County Courthouse at
    200 Main Street, Spencer, West Virginia. 
    Hours are Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm
    (closed during lunch from Noon to 1pm)
    and other times by appointment.
